Mississauga, ON – December 12, 2012 – Members of OCI recently returned to Canada after a successful visit to Argentina to strengthen ties with the local Argentine nuclear industry. OCI is the industry association representing 175 companies that supply products and services to CANDU plants in Canada and around the world
Ala Alizadeh, Candu Energy Senior Vice President of Marketing & Business Development said, “We were pleased to support OCI in this endeavor. It strengthens the ties between our two countries and the CANDU nuclear industry.”
Candu Energy Regional Vice President, South America, Raul Palou, made arrangements for a delegation of five OCI-member companies to meet with Nucleoeléctrica Argentina S.A. president José Luis Antúnez and the senior advisor to Argentine Secretary of Energy, Daniel Cameron. The delegation also toured Argentina’s Attucha II nuclear power plant.
Ron Oberth, OCI President, said “We appreciate Candu Energy’s support for this mission. We believe that our member companies have solidified relationships in Argentina that will bring work to Ontario in the future.”
During the three day trip, OCI members also met with local industry and attended the Annual Meeting of the Argentine Association of Nuclear Technology.
